It's been a very "interesting" year for me. A couple of lifestyle changes, a career change, dropping this blog and starting another and selling off my card collection. It's been full of ups and downs, but for the time being (hopefully) things will be a little more stable and "boring".
I'm reentering the cardboard blogging world again, because frankly, I love it. I love sports and collecting and I love the blogging community. I'm not sure where the focus is going to be here, or even if there needs to be one. I don't want to pigeonhole this into something and not be able to change up the topics when I need to. My primary goal is to enjoy the hobby again and not get caught up in the negativity that seems to surround it.
It's going to be tough with no basketball right now and no basketball cards to collect. Some of you know that I'm a die-hard Trail Blazer fan and beside minor league hockey, there's no other sport in town. If I didn't have my Patriots and my new found enjoyment of the NHL, I wouldn't know what do do with myself.
In spite of that, though, this is a pretty big weekend for sports in my world, because my Patriots and my good friend Guy's Steelers go at it this weekend and like any good sports fans, we have a bet going on. Good luck Guy, but I think I'll be enjoying a 12 pack of Bridgeport IPA in the near future.

It's definitely going to be an interesting game. The Pats are giving up a ton of years through the air and just cut Bodden. If Big Ben can pull out a big game then the Pats could be in trouble. Heck, I picked Mike Wallace as who I thought would be the top WR for yards this week in the Blowout pool. I just think that in a shootout, any team with Tom Brady is going to prevail. The Steelers defense isn't what it used to be and with all of the targets he has available, I think that Brady can lead the Pats to the victory.
ReplyDeleteI like what Tomlin said about the Pats being 32 in pass defense because teams get so far behind that they HAVE to pass the ball.
ReplyDeleteThat's definitely part of it. The pass coverage has been porous at times and the pass rush has been a little less than what they hoped it would be. Certain big name free agent signings have been huge busts for the Pats this year. 2 tackles? The Patriots have always played a bend, don't break style when it comes to defense. They'll let you charge 70 yards down the field and then hold you to a field goal so the stats can be a little deceiving. Maybe I should have gone with Steve Smith instead of Wallace.
ReplyDeleteWallace can take all the yards he wants, just no touchdowns :)
ReplyDeleteWhat? You got your site back up again? That's awesome. Did you spend all day making your blogroll though? Holy shit, that's a lot of blogs to be up right away.
ReplyDeleteGo Steelers.
Heh, no. Somehow it saved all of my links even though I had to re-register the blog name. Oddly enough, the only ones I had to manually update were yours and Offy's.
ReplyDeleteGo Pats
Welcome back to the card blogging world... look forward to reading future posts.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope Brady and Welker go off today... My FF team needs to get back on track and I'm riding these two guys as far as they'll take me.
